Mollie joined Set PT in August 2023. Her interest in physical therapy began in high school while rehabbing after an ACL surgery, where she learned the importance of one-on-one treatment plans and personalized care. She believes in using physical therapy to teach patients how to self-manage symptoms, allowing them to participate in, and return to, activities that are meaningful to them. Because each person’s situation is different, Mollie’s treatment approach is focused on active listening and relationship building, ensuring patients understand the “why” behind their individualized plans.

Mollie started her career at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, where she treated a variety of populations including sports, orthopedic and neurological diagnoses in the outpatient setting. She has worked with patients who have complex medical histories, including chronic pain, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) , and dysautonomia/ Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Mollie also has extensive experience with long COVID patients, and was involved in building Spaulding’s COVID Recovery Program. In addition to these diagnoses, she has a special interest in working with older adults to help them build strength to maintain independence through the aging process, was involved in Spaulding’s aquatic therapy program, and has been involved in adaptive sports programs, working with adaptive athletes to manage and prevent injuries.

In her sessions, Mollie prioritizes the patient’s goals to guide one-on-one treatments, and focuses on building patient relationships to ensure optimal outcomes. Mollie will use various treatment interventions depending on the case to create a personalized plan of care and is passionate about educating patients on their unique plans of care to ensure they are maximizing progress against their individual goals.

Mollie graduated from Quinnipiac University with a B.S. in Athletic Training, and remains a certified Athletic Trainer. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, where she continues to work as a lab instructor. When she’s not in the clinic, you can usually find her in the gym, weight lifting and trying different types of workout classes (spin, Pilates and more), or staying active with one of her other interests, like skiing, tennis, and travel.

“I found SET PT and Dr. Mollie Kam when looking for a physical therapist who could help with both pain from hypermobility and dysautonomia. Mollie has exceeded all expectations as a physical therapist. She goes above and beyond to help me maintain an active lifestyle all while helping me manage my pain/symptoms through both physical therapy and lifestyle changes. She has an extensive knowledge base and is great at explaining the ‘why’ behind each exercise and will modify them to make me as comfortable as possible. I am immensely grateful for Mollie- for the first time, I feel heard and understood as a person instead of being treated as my diagnosis.” – EB

“Mollie was fabulous. Professional, very knowledgeable, personable. A great listener and very helpful with new exercises as well as modifications to my existing routine. She had me back in action after a back injury very quickly.”
