Stacy is one of the founding members of SetPT; a physical therapy practice focused on treating patients one-on-one for 1-hour sessions. She has learned over the years that the value of individual care is the opportunity to listen to a patient’s story. So much information is tied up in each person’s story. By understanding the factors that led up to the injury, both physically and psychologically, the healing process can begin.

Stacy specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics with a concentration in manual therapy. She is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialty) and continues to study manual therapy through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and the Institute of Physical Art. She is trained in movement assessment and believes that it is important to assess and treat the whole person, not just the symptoms or injury. She is committed to working with the individual and enjoys treating patients one-on-one to optimize results by decreasing pain and improving functional performance.

Stacy is level 1 and level 2 certified through Kinetacore to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling and is a certified Pilates instructor (Polestar Pilates and the Pilates Method Alliance). She enjoys incorporating Pilates into physical therapy treatments because it is an approach to healing grounded in the moving body. Stacy has an interest in women’s health and has started her coursework in evidence-based training to treat pelvic floor dysfunction and related conditions of the pelvis, hips, and spine. She is a Pose Method® Certified Running Technique Specialist.

Stacy has served as the team physical therapist for the Washington Kastles, a pro tennis franchise based in Washington DC participating in the Advanta World Team Tennis league. She has her Tennis Performance Trainer (TPT) certification through the International Professional Tennis Association and enjoys working with tennis athletes of all ages. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopaedic Section, Private Practice Section and a member of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia.

Stacy began her journey towards becoming a physical therapist in college. She knew she wanted to work directly with people in the healthcare profession but did not know which direction to choose. She always enjoyed being involved in sports throughout her life and played tennis for three years on the varsity team high school; however, it was an uncle who suffered a paralyzing injury that helped her understand the value a physical therapist can provide.

Stacy attended Emory University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2004. She moved to New York for an adventure and was introduced to the concept of one-on-one physical therapy in an orthopedic setting. Life moved quickly from the start of her career and after learning the one-on-one model under the mentorship of Erika Muraski, she moved to Washington DC to start a location in the city. In 2007, Stacy embarked on a new venture with Erika Muraski to start SetPT with a focus on Service, Expertise, and Time in the heart of Washington DC at Metro Center.

Stacy learned that patients valued individual care. As a physical therapist, she had the time to apply hands-on techniques and eyes on the patients to ensure that when they did an exercise, they were using new strategies instead of old habits to make a change in how their bodies moved.

In 2009, Stacy relocated to Atlanta and started SetPT Atlanta, knowing that she wanted to continue to work with patients in a one-on-one model. After establishing roots in Atlanta, she partnered with Chris Estafanous in 2016 at SetDC to continue to grow the practice.

She currently resides in the Morningside area of Atlanta with her husband and two very busy boys, Liam and Wyatt.  Her weekends stay very full, chasing after her two boys. She particularly enjoys gathering with friends, cooking and swimming with her kids.  She is always up for a challenge and feels blessed to be a physical therapist and interact with amazing and interesting people each day.

Patient Testimonial

“I have to give a “high five” to SetPT, specifically to Stacy. I have been on vacation in the West doing a lot of hiking. My knee is what it is. But the Achilles tendinosis is gone. At no time did I feel pain, soreness, etc. In fact I believe it has made my knee much better because my walk is more natural.”
