Imani Lockwood, PT, DPT (she/her), is originally from Walnut Creek, California. Her interest in physical therapy began at an early age through her mother, an occupational therapist. Growing up around rehabilitation, Imani was inspired by the meaningful relationships therapists developed with their patients and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a person's everyday life.

Imani earned her undergraduate degree in Women's Studies from Spelman College before receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from South College. Her background in Women's Studies helped shape her interest in health equity and whole-person care and eventually led her to pelvic health physical therapy. As she became more aware of the systemic issues surrounding pelvic health and the ways pelvic conditions can affect a person's comfort, confidence, relationships, and quality of life, she knew she wanted to be part of improving access to compassionate and informed pelvic healthcare.

Imani has completed pelvic health training through Herman & Wallace and enjoys treating women, men, and gender-nonconforming individuals. Her pelvic health interests include pelvic pain, urinary and bowel dysfunction, constipation, sexual dysfunction, and pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation. She also enjoys treating orthopedic conditions, particularly those involving the low back, hips, and lumbopelvic region, and appreciates the connection between orthopedic and pelvic health concerns.

Her treatment style is rooted in a holistic, whole-person approach. Imani believes that understanding the person behind the symptoms is just as important as understanding the diagnosis. She prioritizes patient education, collaboration, and creating an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and taking an active role in their care. Her goal is to help patients better understand their bodies while developing individualized treatment plans that address the physical, lifestyle, and personal factors contributing to their symptoms.

Outside of the clinic, Imani enjoys reading, cooking, practicing yoga, spending time outdoors, and sightseeing and exploring new places.
