The long summer days are gradually shortening and spiced pumpkin treats are out in full force.
As the days get shorter and colder, some people tend to become far less active in the fall and winter months, with the tendency to stay inside for more sedentary activities.
Try one of these activities to take advantage of the crisp air and colorful foliage this fall.
1. Walk, Run or Hike Trails
Whether you like to take a leisurely ride or enjoy the challenge of a setting a new personal speed record, trail excursions are a great fall activity, especially with the changing foliage. Why not enjoy the changing leaves by exploring a new trail?
2. Visit an Orchard
Not many things sound better than freshly picked apples. Many nearby orchards will also offer corn mazes, hayrides, pumpkin picking and other family favorites.
3. Go for a Bike Ride
If you’re a nature lover or just like to check out a new place, bicycles are a great vehicle for enjoying the season. Gear up to take advantage of a long distance biking trail.
4. Yardwork
You may be thinking, “This doesn’t sound like a fun activity.” While it may not be on top of your thrill list, you’ll get a double benefit of getting physical activity and improving the look of your yard.
5. Pick Up a New Sport
If you do join an adult league, you’ll get to meet new people while you stay fit. It’s a win-win. Try venturing out for a game of ultimate frisbee or test your agility at rock climbing.
