At Set Physical Therapy we exist to help you live life to your fullest potential. Whether you are a runner, a busy executive with desk related pain or a mom who is trying to navigate pregnancy and recovery, life can be busy and time just never seems to allow us to take care of ourselves. Access to convenient, individualized, professional advice is often the greatest barrier to a healthier YOU. If you’re traveling, stuck at work, or have moved away, you can still have access to your physical therapist via telehealth. And telehealth is a great option during this time of social distancing.

Here’s what you can expect during a telehealth session:

Opportunity to tell your story. We spend several minutes checking in with you to better understand the physical obstacles you are currently facing.

Questions about things related to your physical issue. We’ll ask follow up questions to get a full history and gain information about all the potential contributing factors to your current limitations.

Assessment of your movement. We’ll ask you to perform certain movements to check for functional deficits. We may take a look at your working set up or check the quality and patterns of how you perform a particular task

Education of our diagnosis. We’ll talk to you about the anatomy involved, using a split screen anatomy app, so that you can better visualize and appreciate the way the body works, what happens when it is not functioning at its best and how we can support the body to resolve your limitations.

Exercise prescription tailored to your individual needs. We’ll give specific instructions, often demonstrating with you, providing verbal cuing and feedback on form to ensure safe and correct performance. We can also send you a follow up email with written and visual instructions to the exercises we’ve prescribed.

Practical solutions for injury healing and prevention. We provide a lot of education on activity modifications, ways to safely initiate or progress exercise, the best ways to allow healing from an injury and to prevent new injuries from occurring.

Chance for clarification. We’ll give you an opportunity toward the end of the session to address any other concerns that weren’t covered or ask questions if something is not clear.

A telehealth visit with a physical therapist is a safe and convenient way to get individualized professional care in the comfort of your own home.
